Purchased this combo from Canadian tire for the start of salmon fishing this Friday here in BC. Spooled with 17lb line and the bail release broken after pushing it in...Will bne returning it. This is not the quality of my old freshwater C4 and C3 reels. BTW I use these in saltwater and have had absolutely no issues. They have all been going strong for the past 15 years without fail. I happened to notice where this product is made and it is NOT from where they used to be from! I will not be purchasing and Abu products into the future.

these rods are stellar and telegraph well. I can always tell when my harness has picked up a weed or a small fish. Sure saves alot of fishing time when you you can see what you may be missing. The reel is as you would expect from an Abu round reel. super solid smooth operation and drag. Would love a line counter on it but that would very much drive up the price.

I was so impressed with these rods that I bought another one. Mounted a Beast casting reel in the second. Love them. I have caught some large fresh water fish with them .. working on hooking salmon on them those year coming

Bought this rod/reel combo a couple of weeks ago and I've enjoyed it since. Nice weight, comfortable grip, smooth action. Breaks down into 2 pieces so it fits in my compact daily commuter for lunch time casts! Threw 10lb braided line on it, adjusted the brakes/line tension and I've yet to have a birds nest. No issue with shipping or packaging. Its my new go to rod.
